Background
When my husband and I moved to Iowa about 10 years ago, we knew this is where we wanted to establish our life as a young growing family. Born and raised throughout the midwest, there was something special about Iowa: it was now a place called home.
Growing up with strong biblical and conservative values, I have always been drawn to public service. Both my parents showed me what it meant to serve others in the community through their involvement and volunteering with the local fire station. From a young age, I was surrounded by aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents who selflessly put others first.
Lifestyle
After securing a Bachelor degree in Hospitality Tourism and Business Management from Purdue University alongside my husband, we went from working in the restaurant/hotel and retail management to completely shifting gears. My husband completed the Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship out of Local 55 where he continues to support our family today and I fulfilled my dream of being a stay at home wife and mother while our children were young.
Why
That is, until our children entered school and our experienced was so far from what I had hoped. Parents that held our beliefs were shoved aside and another belief system was ushered in. There’s no denying that the pandemic was a pivotal moment for many of us. For me, I could no longer sit back and allow for this overreach to continue and for the school to assert the place of the parent. And so, I ran for the Linn-Mar Board of Directors in 2021.
In doing so, I experienced more than I ever would have imagined. The lies, verbal attacks, sabotage and vandalism came out in full force. Who knew an unapologetic Christian mother would cause such a tizzy from the Far-Left.
Hope
Embracing courage not of my own, I decided to start an organization to continue working with teachers, parents and community members to be a voice for truth. Our mission is to fight for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.
My story began as a concerned parent simply protecting my children when they needed it the most. I got involved with out local Republican Party and serve on several committee including Election Integrity, Voter Engagement and GOP Advisory Board. I was recently elected as an Alternate Delegate for the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.
Opposing government overreach and supporting parental rights has always been a focus of mine, as an elected Iowa House of Representative for District 73, the mission will include the priorities of my neighbors as I continue to serve.
